In California, you can smog a car with a swapped engine as long as the engine originated in the same year as the car or newer. For instance, you could put a 2ZR-FE into an '08 Corolla and it would be legal. Puttling a 1ZZ-FE into an '09 Corolla would be illegal.

That would be the best way to do it if that is the look you want to go after.

It's not that bad, but it is expensive. You need a PCM and the wiring harness for the 2ZZ-GE, along with the engine itself.

No, this one you want to use the tool to tighten (if you go hand tight, it'll leak), but don't go King Kong on it. I'd do about 5 ft-lb of torque (that's about what I did). That is all you need. The clip is just a safety I suppose, looks like it is there as protection in-case the cap comes...

Took me all day. Vacuum, Meguiar's Interior Ultra Shine, Rain-X Window Cleaner, washed, clay, and waxed the paint, cleaned the wheels, shined the tires. Looks showroom again (it was a little brutal earlier).
