Horrible idea. You're allowing carbon monoxide to enter the cabin, not to mention the possibility of overheating components above and around that connection. The power loss won't be that bad because most of the back-pressure comes from the catalytic converter and not so much the muffler.

The dealer may do it. Tuning shops can do it.

Redline is 6500 but shift at 6000. You're well past the powerband at 6500 and just making yourself slower.

That's false on modern cars, for a few reasons. 1. The engine takes longer to get to operating temperature when idle. 2. Engines are machined to greater tolerances which allows them to hold a good seal even when cold. 3. Engines now have anti-drainback valves so the heads don't initially starve...

That's the Electric Power Steering giving extra grunt at low speeds. It's normal.

Locked disc? I've been working on brakes for years on several different cars and never had that happen. Did you not bottom the pistons out or something?

Pretty much the only way to do it. I tried mine with a heat gun and there was no way the assembly was coming apart.

It most likely is the tires. The harmonics from the differences in tread are resonating at those speed.

How the hell does someone do that without breaking something else?
