    Racing with a Corolla S

I thought so too, but apparently not on my S+ 6MT Aw well.

    Ultra Racing

I don't see it making a difference there. You aren't going to get much deflection in that area because the torsion beam that is right behind it, plus the real control arm bushings, take pretty much all of the deflection. A rear brace connecting the rear strut towers would do more to stiffen the...

    Racing with a Corolla S

I haven't driven around in the mode yet but I doubt ABS is disabled ... although it is hard to lock up the brakes with the EBC Stage 5 Kit. And ... as far as getting it back on ... I'm still trying to figure that part out, LOL! I tried doing the routine again, tried doing e-brake, brake...

Sweet! It keeps it off even when I turn the car off and back on! No need to keep hitting the button all the time!

2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8 CVT Exclusive Tyre Wear Problem

I used to go into car chat in AOL back when that was a thing. A guy came in with issues about his car and we were talking about it in IM. I told him it sounded like his input shaft bearing on the transmission was dying. About two weeks later he e-mailed me with pictures of his input shaft...

2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8 CVT Exclusive Tyre Wear Problem

No worries, but really, any car can use a four-wheel alignment no matter what configuration it is. Doing a two wheel is fine if you hit something on the freeway, but when I do tires I always do a four-wheel. I'm wondering if it is just poor tire craftsmanship. I've seen my share of defective tires.

    Stock Exhaust Removal Help

I don't care about profanity as long as the profanity isn't directed at another member. I think I'm the only active admin left anyway. Scott has been MIA for a while.

Burning rubber smell From bottom of Engine @ 8k

He won't be anymore. I threw down the ban hammer a couple weeks back.

Burning rubber smell From bottom of Engine @ 8k

I get the burning rubber smell too when driving hard but it most likely is the tires (I have a 6MT so can't necessarily blame the CVT).

Burning rubber smell From bottom of Engine @ 8k

I had to replace halfshaft seals on my Fuckus ... not fun at all.

    2017 Corolla Pricing and Models

I am not a fan of the front end at all. Also, the SE 6MT doesn't have Entune Apps. Booo. But the dynamic cruise control would be nice in SoCal.

2016 Toyota S CVT Oil change

Relying on the oil light is bad. The oil light doesn't mean low oil, it means 0 oil pressure ... as in ... put the car in neutral and shut the engine off now or be sorry.

    Interior fuse box power tap?

How were you measuring that? Not all fuses have power at all times and definitely not from both sides. Power only travels one direction through a fuse.

    Racing with a Corolla S

I hold the button and do plenty of hard cornering and burnouts and never felt the nannies kick on except ABS, which is on at all times.

    TRD radiator cap

I wouldn't call a radiator cap a performance part. Increasing the pressure just means the coolant can reach a higher temperature before the cap releases excess pressure back into the overflow tank. You wouldn't notice an issue until the car starts having coolant issues 15 or so years from now...

2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8 CVT Exclusive Tyre Wear Problem

Sounds like poor tire quality. If the mechanic was competent in balancing the tires and the pressure was checked regularly, then that is the most likely cause. Bad shocks can also cause cupping, but the odds of both rear shocks on a 2 year old car being trash is a very, very, very low number.
