What is this rusty rattlin' piece?

That looks like a shield of some sort. Is it rattling on the exhaust?

    2ZR-FE Oil Change

They had the "M1 Extended Performance" on the shelf, but who in their right mind would run an engine oil for 15k? Whatever Toyota put in mine at the 20k mark came out black. Should have been Synthetic but I highly doubt it. The mechanics don't know how to not get oil all over my engine. I'll...

Yet another reason I hate CVTs. Hope you get it sorted @Rick Granberg

    2014 s with acceleration issues

I was talking about intake leaks. If air is being sucked in anywhere other than the air filter then you would get symptoms like you describe. Go and check the clamps on the K&N Intake. The Automatic should also have a dipstick in the engine bay. Not sure where because I have a Manual...

    Stock Exhaust Removal Help

If they are tight, heat will help. Try removing the exhaust when warm/hot like TheDrainnoodle suggested. If they are still too tight you might need to use a breaker bar. Put a pipe on the end of your socket wrench for more leverage.

    2014 s with acceleration issues

Manual or Automatic transmission? I would verify that you do not have any leaks between the filter and engine intake.

    Stock Exhaust Removal Help

Aren't they just 13mm bolts? Standard left-loosey, righty-tighty? I think I've read it needs a deep well socket.

High gas consumption when using Manual, is this normal?

It's just a computer that tracks previous records and extrapollates data. Calculate MPG at the end of the tank. The range is just an estimator. If you're putting it in Sport and controlling the automatic it will use more gas when you keep the RPMs high.

    2ZR-FE Oil Change

Interesting video, learned a little bit on that one. Yeah I like the fact there are only a few manufacturers of oil filters, if you know which ones to buy then you can save a little money. It's just like car batteries. Sears Die Hard Platinum is/was an Odyssey battery IIRC

    2014 S plus water pump

In today's world I wouldn't be surprised if a car manufacturer deemed the water pump to be a maintenance item that is not covered under the powertrain warranty. LOL

    AC Just Stopped

Does the LE have automatic climate control? Admittedly don't know much about the other trims. x2 I would take this to the dealer. Should definitely be covered under warranty.

    2014 S plus water pump

Factory defect could have been something to do with a weep hole, machining of the pump itself, etc. No telling. Really good they fixed it for you hassle-free though. Especially with it being outside of the 36k basic warranty.

    2ZR-FE Oil Change

Thanks for the tech on that. I'm always a stickler with oil filter brands. Pretty much stick to WIX or occasionally will use a Motorcraft on my Land Cruiser. Same filter as a stock F-150. (They are cheap at Walmart along with the oil, otherwise Rock Auto for filters. I would NEVER run a Fram)...

    2ZR-FE Oil Change

If you're talking about the difference between the stock filter and WIX filter yeah I was kind of shocked at the difference. I figure it's fine though. The filter wrench fit better with the clip removed. Over time bending and re-shaping might break the clip. Looked like the right thing to do...

What type of gas are y'all putting in the tank?

I have been running 87 Octane throughout the ownership of my car. About 18 months. 2015 Corolla S Plus. No complaints from the car ever. I'd say if you want cleanliness and 'performance' to just use major brand gas. Shell, Exxon, Valero, etc. Avoid the cheapest, 'no-name' gas stations. And if...

    2ZR-FE Oil Change

Just wanting to share my experience changing the oil on my 2015 Corolla with 1.8 2ZR-FE engine. Owners Manual calls for 4.4 quarts with filter change. Using Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy and WIX 57064XP filter. This is the first car I've owned that needed a special oil filter wrench...

New to corolla what you paid for your s plus?

Thanks for the kind words. I hope the OP learned something other than flaming people. I've had the car for 19 months. So I must be pretty fortunate I didn't total it.
