Took mine apart. I had gotten a wiring kit thinking my car did not have the wire running to the ECM from what I had read about the VIN . Mine did have it but in that kit was a wire with an end that fit into the cruise plug and the other end clipped on to the back of the air bag.

Or if you have the right tool you could try popping the ground wire out of its connector and putting it in the proper spot of the cruise connector. I don't have a tool for that and didn't want to chance wrecking a connector.

That sounds like what I remember mine had. When I looked at instructions again both Rostra (figure 17) and Toyota (figure 9) show 3 wires being used at the plug. I'm pretty sure I cut the 'plug' off the ground, extended the wire and put a grounding lug on it. Don't remember where I attached it...

It's been awhile since I did mine but I do remember having to re-do the ground wire because it couldn't plug back in to the original spot. I think because that's where the cruise plug went. Did you take a pic by chance?

Find a Toyota dealer with online parts department and see if part number is same between the years.

2009 Corollas had a couple issues but they were taken care of before 2010's came out. So basically check the same as any other used car.

On the passenger side is the washer fluid reservoir. Removing the fog light cover would expose it to damage from road debris.

Have brakes inspected. Rotors, pads and fluid need to be checked.

Are you using a scanner that reads ABS? I had light turn off but the code was stored in memory. You need a more advanced scanner than just CEL.

Need to have it scanned for codes to find the problem(s).

No kits that I know of but I have heard of people doing a swap using rear disc parts from 10th generation xrs.

You will lose your audible indication of wear. Will need to regularly visually inspect the pads for wear.
