I've seen brake drum and rotor pullers. I feel more comfortable hitting them off ... than I do putting that much force on the axle nut threads (because that is pretty much where the force goes to). That's just me though.

When I travel back to Escondido from Reno, there is a hill steep enough to do 90 m.p.h. on while in neutral for a solid 7 miles ... of course ... it sucks going up it because you have to be in 4th gear.

Yup. The EBC 3DG rotors that replace the OEM ones did have the two threaded holes for future removal, go figure, but I still put on the thin coat of wheel bearing grease so that I wouldn't have to do that in the future.

GM let people die and only recalled when the NHTSA stepped in. They're not much better :-\

This is the 4th thread we've seen related to this. One person fixed it by replacing their high beams relay. Check it to see if it is bad.

My 2008 Matrix didn't have them. Had no choice but to smack them off.

The manual says not to gap them, for whatever reason.

Doesn't bother me. If they can't do it on your year, then it is what it is.

I've seen some with screws and some without, usually the auto-dimming mirror will comes with its foot. If it does, you may be able to compare it to the stock mirror and if they are the same, then remove bolt and replace.
