It is lengthwise so it shouldn't end in a catastrophic failure. The rubber being new is your friend here. It's not something I would keep for months though.

Keep engaging and dis-engaging the parking brake until self-adjustment is complete. It may take a while. Next time you do the drums, you will see a shaft with a gear on it. You need to turn that gear until the shoes are just about to hit the drums, then back off a turn. That is the adjuster...

That is a serpentine belt from the looks of it. Find another mechanic and have him replace it, then give your old mechanic the bill. That mark came because he started the car with the belt not sitting in the pulleys properly. That's how that cut got there.

Flywheel that engages the clutch (face of flywheel) is the same that the starter turns (teeth of flywheel). As far as I know, the bellhousing should be all one piece. It is hard to tell from the picture, but this looks like the metal sheet that mounts from the engine block to cover the lower...

Yeah, sounds like an actuator is pulling more current than normal.

Mine wouldn't shimmy on light braking or of they were cold, but if I was horsing around and got the brakes warm, it got REALLY bad. You may just be using the brakes less aggressively without realizing it.

For an S Plus without the Driver Convenience Package, it's a good price. You MIGHT be able to talk them down to $16.5k if the car has been sitting on the lot long enough.

If the scratch doesn't dig into the plastic, replacement is overkill. Even then, you can use a filler and sand it flat, and nobody would know the difference once paint is over it. Only thing that will be cheaper is finding a 2014 that was totaled in the front with matching paint.

My Dad bought my sister a stickshift Samurai and she hated the thing ... but once she got the hang of it, she loved it. Every car she has owned since has been a stickshift. Both my Mustangs, my Focus, my Matrix, and my '14 S are stickshift.

I never had a problem with green either, but you gotta change it more often. Dex Cool, Toyota Red, and Ford Yellow are 100,000+ mile coolants. Think green was every 30,000 or 24 months, if I'm not mistaken.
