One thing I read is that Toyota limited oil pressure to eliminate as much parasitic drag as possible without creating belt slippage. I think that kills any idea for a turbo on a CVT without modifications to the oil pressure valving.

If you like yellow fogs, Nokya NOK9618 is the way to go. If you prefer white driving lights, then the Morimoto kit from TRS is the way to go (Type T I think). I did all of my lights except for the turn signals and the high beams. Will do those later.

Yeah, people are talking about if a CVT can handle a turbo but when I read about the oil pressure ... I dunno ... you'd have to install an aftermarket oil control body that would up the pressure, and chances are they won't make them since most people that install turbos do so on stickshifts...

That sucks. I've had these ones for nearly a year now and I haven't had issues. Sounds like if they blew a fuse they didn't wire the bulb properly or sent you the wrong part number.

First things first, check the torque on the axle nut for both CV Joints. My friend recently replaced a CV joint and had a rumble that turned out to be not using a torque wrench on the axle nuts. If that checks out, then it may be a CV joint.

No issues with oil consumption, and the 2ZR-FE has been around since 2009, so if any oil consumption issues existed with these engines, they would have surfaced by now. As others have said, '98 - '02 1ZZ-FE have the oil burning issues, while the '03 - '08 1ZZ-FE had no issues.

Hmmmmm ... it may use a different connection if all 5 wires are used, because you would need a separate wire for the turn signal lamps since they can't possibly share with the defrost lead or the motor leads.

As far as the original post, I say see if there is a software update for the ECM and go from there. Make sure you tell them that it is getting worse and that it didn't do it when the car was new, and drive that point home.

All stickshift cars do this, especially in the lower gears (1st or 2nd).

That sounds more like the CVT than the 6MT. I'm spinning past 3000 in mine at 80 in 5th gear, and at a comfortable 2700-ish in 6th.
