Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

That's because when you are in B the transmission is staying in 2nd gear, so you are keeping the engine in the powerband, quicker throttle response and no need to wait for a downshift when flooring it.

A/C Takes a Bit to Get Cold

That's physics. Nothing you can do about that. Jolly, it isn't so much the hot air in the ducts from the evaporator casing to the dashboard vents, as much as it is that the Freon needs to be in it's normal cycle to function efficiently. 1. Compressor turns low pressure gas Freon into a high...

    LOCATION OF THE HEADERS

The exhaust is always directed to the back no matter where the exhaust manifold is located, and the engine compartment always has heat from the engine itself, as well as coolant lines, etc. It's all engineering ... what is the best way to make things fit, some companies do it differently than...

    LOCATION OF THE HEADERS

You can remove the motor mounts and support the engine with a chain but you risk ripping exhaust hangers, damaging the CV joints, plucked wiring, etc. etc. etc. ... Not even worth trying.

    LOCATION OF THE HEADERS

Headers are the exhaust manifold. Against the firewall. It is a bit of a bitch to get to them in the 10th and 11th gen Corollas because the cowl hangs so far into the engine compartment, but there is enough room to get to the bolts going into the head from atop the engine, and ... with some...

    brake problem?

Now that I think about it, have them check the ABS module as well for leaks. It gets overlooked at times with a pedal that drops to the floor.

    brake problem?

Yeah that isn't normal. Sounds like brake master cylinder or leaks around the ABS unit.

    2015 Corolla - Towing a Small Trailer

I think the trays / baskets that go onto the hitch are worse because the rear will sag more than with a trailer, and the car will handle like crap with it loaded. If you have a stickshift and your clutch starts slipping, stop towing. If you have a CVT, you're being a guinea pig by towing on...

    How to lock trunk release

My girl has a 2010 LE. I'm gonna try that! I'd use it just because I keep popping the trunk when I fill up ... used to my Matrix not having one.

2014 Corolla With 13,500 Miles Needs Cylinder Head Replaced

I did a head change in a '94 Mercury Topaz GS in 4 hours ... granted it was an OHV (2.3 HSC) so I didn't have to deal with the cams, but still, 4 hours.

    My best tank yet!

I hit 150 mph in my '82 Mustang GT, 145 mph in my '96 Mustang GT, 105 mph in my '03 Focus (speed governed) and 115 mph in my '08 Matrix and '14 Corolla S (both speed governed as well).

    How to lock trunk release

I haven't seen that feature, none of my Fords and Toyotas had it.

    2015 Corolla S Premium Bugs

It's the same with ovens and grills. You run them at 450 for 10 minutes and it makes them easier to clean.

    My best tank yet!

I think my rings were fully set around the 500 mile mark, and my mileage peaked at around 1500 - 2000 miles.

2014 Corolla With 13,500 Miles Needs Cylinder Head Replaced

Plus, after the crap I dealt with the 5 miserable years I had my '03 Ford Focus, I'd take a head change in warranty. Chances are strong it's the only major issue you'll have for 200,000 miles.

2014 Corolla With 13,500 Miles Needs Cylinder Head Replaced

If there was an issue and they fixed it, then they fixed it. No manufacturer is immune to sending out a bad apple here and there. The issue was from milling (i.e. machining), so they know if the new head will have that issue or not by looking at it. Chances are only a few made it out of the...
