    Question About AC Controls/Defrost

The 'Auto' feature seems to work that way on most year Toyota's. My '99 4Runner did the same thing. Instead of 'auto' they should label it 'turbo' however if you wait long enough it will adjust the fan speed down as the temperature approaches what you have it set for. Personally I just use...

2012 Corolla - How to Turn off the VSC Temporarily?

Are you stopped when you're trying to turn it off? I know if you're traveling over a certain speed (I don't know what that speed is but you can't do it at highway speeds). Kevin

2011 Corolla - Battery Drainage Issues

No offense Fishy but I wouldn't try that on a modern, computer-controlled engine. Removing the battery could cause damage to the ECM or any other important (and expensive) components. Kevin

2011 Corolla - Battery Drainage Issues

Welcome to the forum! First-off do you have any aftermarket accessories installed If so start by disconnecting each of those items one-by-one (you can do it easily by removing the fuse for that device). When you're cleaning corrosion from the terminals are you cleaning the inside of the...

    DIY Trunk Organizer

I can relate, for me it was when a larger tool bag I take with me on trips (not pictured) fell over and rolled across the trunk spilling it's contents all over, some of which ended-up in my friends travel bag. Ever seen a girl reach in her bag for a comb and come-up with spark plug? :laughing...

2004 Corolla - Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Recommendations

I think it was made by Magnaflow but don't remember for sure. I just checked rockauto.com and they have aftermarket Cats for your son's car from $250-280. I'm guessing it would cost another $100 to have a muffler shop change it out. Good luck! Kevin

2004 Corolla - Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Recommendations

I'll re-post it, though I like Scott's suggestion to get Toyota to cover it. If that's not an option this might work for you: In California you're supposed to use a CARB-approved converter which means you're stuck buying an OEM converter which is $$. Aftermarket converters are a lot less...

    2001 Corolla - Door Won't Open

I agree with idea of calling a Locksmith, the good ones can work wonders! Short of that moving the seat (as DK suggested) or possibly removing the seat altogether may be another option. Good luck! Kevin

    DIY Trunk Organizer

That works too! I built mine with more compartments because when I travel I have another tool bag and a back pack I carry, my thought was that I could stow the small stuff in the compartments than toss luggage on top but anything which keeps stuff where you put it should fit the bill :) Kevin

    DIY Trunk Organizer

Thanks for the kind words! So far I'm making two more of them (one for a relative's Cavalier and another for a friends ES300). I'm not sure if I'm ready to start charging for them, guess I'll have to see how the others turn-out. I think I am going to paint it though, maybe make it blend-in...

    2015 Corolla S-Debadged Today - Thoughts?

I like the de-baged look, always best to do it ASAP on a new car if you're going to do it. Kevin

    DIY Trunk Organizer

So this was a simple fix to a problem which had been bugging me for the past couple of months. My Corolla doesn't have any way to secure cargo in the trunk, which normally isn't a big deal since I don't carry much back there, although I do have a tool bag and a small fire extinguisher back...

    XM Radio

It's addicting. I've been with Sirius since before the merger with XM. I'm on the road a lot both for work and play and having Sirius makes the time go-by faster for me, plus since I use a portable receiver I'm able to move it easily from car-to-car (everything I drive has it's own satellite...

    1997 Corolla - Fuel Fumes

Sounds like it could be a bad or disconnected vent line from the tank. If you've already visually checked all of them you may need to take it into a shop and have a smoke test performed on it. Kevin

    2001 Corolla - P0171 Help!

FWIW I've had bad luck with non-OEM sensors on my other Toyota's. Also make sure they sent you the correct MAF. As an example I needed an O2 sensor for my '99 4Runner but was sent one for a 4Runner without CA emissions which didn't work in my CA-emissions equipped 4Runner. Just a thought. Kevin

    2001 Corolla - P0171 Help!

Welcome to the forum! Easy thing to check would be for any leaks in the intake, the next suspect could be your Mass Air Flow Sensor. Kevin

    2014 Corolla - Borla?

In my opinion, buy a stereo for your car. It's something which you'll likely get much more use out of than an exhaust. In some cases adding a larger exhaust will actually hurt performance since (in essence) the exhaust system and the intake system of a modern car are balanced. In order for...
