I'm not understanding how someone being a co-signer on a car is then considered the legal owner. Sure if the primary signer on the loan defaults that would happen but if you made the payments on-time then at the end of the loan the car is yours. I have no experience with the disability system...

You'd be better off just going to a local exhaust shop (not Midas IMHO) and have them weld-in a new muffler and fix the hole(s). Just tell the shop you want a quiet, stock-sounding muffler. Total cost should be less than $300 and it'll likely out-live your car. Kevin

For me the wheels were a deal-breaker; I wanted Alloy's, not the painted black wheels with hubcaps. Sales guy couldn't believe that was a thing with me. Needless to say the Corolla I bought had Alloy's :D Kevin

Very thankful we don't have to worry much about rust here in So.Cal. On the roads which get snow up in the mountains the road crews use a combination of sand and crushed volcanic rock (cinders). Makes a bit of a mess when you drive in it but cleans-up easy. Kevin

A friend of mine hit a pedestrian (long story) with her '03 Corolla earlier this year and took-out the mirror on the drivers-side. Smashed the whole thing. I was able to get a complete replacement (housing, motors, glass) all together on Rock Auto for less than $100 if I recall. Only drawback...

I don't disagree with what you're saying Scott however if the car has been neglected and is behind on maintenance (such as a fuel filter which may never have been changed) getting it caught-up on those maintenance items may correct some (if not all) of the problems this guy is having, plus they...
