Silicon in the engine oil, 2018 corolla, 7000 miles

What would it matter if the engine is built in China? It would have to meet Toyota specs before it gets used. I'm fairly certain Toyota would not want to potentially ruin their reputation over an engine that is poorly built. I am sure there are Toyota engines that are built in China, they would...

Little box above P for Park

The cover was likely removed for some reason and lost. And to clarify, you don't need the key to push in to release the lever, anything will work, and you don't need professional expertise if you do unlock the shift lever. All it is a safety defeat to be able to move the car should it not start...

Corolla 2010 S best time to sell

If you have no issue why sell it? If you search the forum you will find lots of evidence of many more miles on Corollas that are just fine. The Corolla has a reputation of not giving trouble or major cost, those qualities are part of what makes the car so appealing to so many people. As far as...

    Oil filter wrench?

I got cheap one on ebay, no complaints. However, your car is under warranty, chances are doing your own oil will void it. Getting my oil done at the dealer was not terribly expensive, $75 Cad if I remember correctly. Any of the quick lube places that don't void the warranty can be used and may...

2010 Canadian Made Toyota Corolla Strut Spring Assembly

Canadian made specs should be the same as the American made ones, After all some of the Canadian made Rolla's have been assembled for the US market. At least I'm 99.9% sure of this.

Shifted to 'P' at 10 mph

If this is the only time it has happened and everything is working fine, it is likely ok. However I would say regardless of what happened the hand brake should be used when parking on a hill, that way it relieves any pressure on the parking pawl. I even use the hand brake on flat surfaces...

2015 Toyota Corolla S - Carfax Showing Structural Damage

It's your call to buy or not. Where I live I can run the vin# with insurance and that will tell me what accidents it was in and how much the claim was for. I personally am not against buying a car that has been in an accident as long as I know how much and what the damage was. If it has been...

    2013 Corolla roof paint delaminating

well, odd that the Carfax did not report anything and Toyota says the roof was replaced. Did Toyota say anything else replaced? If not it seems odd only the roof was replaced and nothing else.

    Slow Takeoff..

Slow take off is what you get with a CVT. The CVT in the 2019 hatch has an actual gear that it uses to get off the line before the reverts to CVT function. As far as reviews go it is much better, but still no 5mt or 6mt. From a review on the new hatchback Toyota calls it a launch gear. We’ll...

    short shifter.

Yeah, I have not seen much online. I don't want to spend the money for after market, yet. I know have been looking at bushings, I think I might start with that to see if it feels better. I mainly just want a better feel to the shifts.

    short shifter.

Just curious, has anyone looked into making your own short shifter? I am mildly interested in doing this on my 2013. I was wondering what would be involved and how difficult it is to do.

    Looking fooooor

wow, that is desperate, unbolt and steal the whole arm. I'm sure you can find them online but the 14-18 are gonna be the same. What I suggest is look at the local wreckers and you can pull them off a wrecked car for much less than new.

    Change wheels size??? 2018

this is what I was getting at. using the wheel and proper tires size in combo will fit. However if the diameter is not the same it will throw the speedo off as it will be calibrated for the larger wheel and tire size. Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference...
