2014 Corolla S Transmission Fail afer update

Damn straight! Have to get these younger drivers to understand how much more fun it is to drive a 6MT. I can't count the times I've seen someone with a CVT say that they wish they had bought a 6MT. As a car guy I have to do everything I can to save the MT and to allow new drivers to enjoy the fun.

    Tires for my Corolla S

Because tires are the ONLY thing touching the ground and make a huge difference in braking distance, steering input and ride, even on a daily driver. If you do your homework cheap tires are cheap for a reason most of the time. There are good deals that are less expensive but just buying the...

    Tires for my Corolla S

Should have bought 225/45R17 as they are the correct diameter.

    Aftermarket Steering Wheel

How about some pics? Hard to know what you are dealing with. In newer cars with airbags and electronics in the steering wheel people don't do this these days.

    Slow Takeoff..

I owned a Pivot throttle controller for 7 years on my 2009 Corolla S. I took it off when I installed my turbo kit because the tuner said to do so for when he did my final tune. My plan is to install it on my 2017 Corolla iM if it fits. I haven't tried it yet though. I loved having it as it made...

    Slow Takeoff..

The CVT is built for maximum economy and off the line acceleration is a weak point. I noticed this right away when I drove the CVT, hence why I bought a 6MT. That being said a throttle controller can help improve the feel of the lag you notice.

    Tires for my Corolla S

What ever tire you get make sure to buy the proper 225/45R17 size. For whatever reason Toyota used a smaller diameter 17" tire then they di in the other tire sizes. These are the OEM sizes along with optional sizes with each tires diameter. I agree that the General G-Max is an excellent choice...

Tuning will run you about $300-$400 on average. This is true for any tuning session no matter if you have a turbo or not.

    14 Rolla suspension

Replacing the springs is very simple with a spring compressor tool. The rear is super easy but the front isn't hard by any means. I would never use a POS strut like Monroe. The OEM is KYB or you can invest in a set of BC coilovers that are also pre-assembled and that allows you to adjust the...

    2016, 40K miles

I have tint on every one of my 7 cars. I hate it when I drive a car without tinted windows. I have 20% - 35% tint on my rear windows. I did just have the tint on my 95 Previa removed and replaced with 15%. The tint was damaged and I wanted it darker on my Previa. Just keep driving it and you...

Turbokits.com, it's one of the options that you can pick from when ordering the turbo kit. There are many options you can pick from or you can stick with the standard kit. I also had my turbo, exhaust manifold and downpipe ceramic coated. If you go on the website you can look through the...

It's the AEM FIC that came with the turbo kit. I bought the plug-n-play wiring harness that they sell for simplicity. It made it a few second hook up.

Tires change from 205/55R16 to larger

225/50R16 Don't use a larger diameter but this will be the correct diameter with a wider contact patch. If you insist on going to a larger diameter just go up one size to a 215/55R16.

    Hello, bought 2019 SE Today.

You need to step up to the 21st Century!!! Funny that people actually still go to the dealer first. For the past 10 years I go online and build the car I want and send it to every dealer close enough that I'll drive to. I deal with the internet manager that way and get a lot better deal then...

A set of factory tires cost me half price

I was just pointing out that better tires can make the difference between an accident and stopping in time. Better performing tires are never a bad choice when it comes to handling better and stopping quicker. You can get what ever cheaper tire you want but once you experience a better...
