I've seen this happen so many times with an alarm. Even if the alarm is working properly it can drain a battery quickly if the car isn't driven all the time. If it does get driven make sure you have the alternator checked.

So why so few miles? That's even harder on parts than driving it. Why don't you ever drive it? Cars are meant to be driven so drive and enjoy it!

You're not wrong. Upgrading to the TRD RSB is the best thing and makes the biggest difference. As I keep adding bars to my 2009 Corolla S it just kept getting better and better. It handles great now and with the added power from being turbocharged now I love it more than ever.

I have 3 Corollas in the family. My 2009 Corolla S Turbo 5MT is over 103k miles. Getting ready to take it on a cross country trip in April. My 2017 Corolla iM 6MT just passed the 10k mile mark. My daughter has my old 94 Corolla but it has 315k miles.

The OEM alloy wheels in the 16x7 and 17x7 both had an offset of +39mm if I remember. Bolt pattern is 5x100 with a center bore of 54.1mm. My Rivage wheels are 17x8 +35mm and I think they fill out the wheel wells very nicely.

Could you swap it? Sure, enough money will let you do anything. But you will need to change out the ECU, transmission, clutch pedal, shifter, shifter cables, clutch master cylinder, etc. I wouldn't want to deal with it personally and I've done engine swaps on cars.

It would be easier to sell the CVT and just buy a 6MT.

Couldn't agree with you more. I have 4 cars that have a MT. I couldn't live with a CVT or AT on my fun cars or DD.

Everyone that I spoke to that knew what they were talking about told be 2.25" was the largest that you wanted with a N/A engine. The only exception to that would be if you totally built a N/A engine than 2.5" would be possible.

That's why you buy the part you need and have a local muffler shop weld it in. This approach would be much cheaper.

There shouldn't be anything unique about the CAT for the Corolla. Only if you live in CA will you have issues. Here is a high quality Magnaflow CAT on Amazon for $110. A muffler shop could weld it in for $50-$100...

A decent quality CAT isn't crazy expensive. If it's the same size it can just be bolted in place. If not a muffler shop can simplify weld one in place. To bad about the alternator, if you had been aware you could have had it towed home. The prices being Canadian dollars are higher but still...

Obviously things will wear out and CAT's will too. Not uncommon for them to need replacing after 200k miles but many will last longer. What is not common is to pay $1600 for a $200 part. And $700 for an alternator?? You can but one for $250 or less and replace it for free by doing it yourself...

I bought the TRD front upper strut brace and rear sway bar from a local Toyota dealer. I bought my Ultra Racing bars online. I have a front lower 3-point chassis brace, lower side chassis braces, rear upper strut brace, rear lower 2-point chassis brace and rear 19mm sway bar.

Sounds like it won't be a big deal as you had it checked out. No way to know about oil consumption. You could check the compression to see if it's okay.

Why does it have a salvaged title? What was the damage? Was it fixed properly? That's very low mileage so I would be worried that the car has a lot more miles and someone messed with something. If it's a solid car and the miles are correct than $2k isn't that much money but I wouldn't have spent...
