Buying 2016 corolla s premium. Need price help

Find the True Car price, then subtract $2,000. That is what you should aim for. You have to be a good negotiator to get that though. (True Car used to be good when it came out, but dealers really hated them then, and they rode on that perception as they made deals with dealers to not be so...

Back Up Camera Not Very Good

For what it's worth. This is the first back-up camera that I've ever had/used, and it's great. It does get a little grainy, but I can still easily see the image. It works well at night and day for me, and depth perception is not a problem. In fact, sometimes it gives me better angles than...

Need Help - Replacing Rear Bench Seat Cover

I don't know about replacing the cover, but as for removing the bench seat from the car, it's relatively easy. There are two clips on the bottom that you just have to pull up on, and a bolt behind the fold-down seat that is a bit of a pain to get to (and to put back in!), but once you unbolt...

Corolla 2015 - Trunk Lid Opens Half way

Mine (2015 LE) only opens half-way as well, but then I can manually open it all the way when I actually get to the trunk. Personally, I prefer this. If you're concerned this is a defect, visit a dealership and ask to try this with their Corollas.

Air vent mount cell phone holder - is there one out there?

I use the cup holder. With the downward-facing speakers on my phone, the cup holder actually amplifies the audio from my phone.

    Dead battery after 5 months.

Perhaps. That's something to consider. Thanks.

    Dead battery after 5 months.

I have a 2015 Corolla LE that I bought new earlier this year. Two days ago my car wouldn't start (lights and infotainment system came on, clicking when trying to turn the engine). I jumped the car, and charged the battery. It started fine after that. Next day, it didn't start again. Battery...

    Oil change

I worked as a licensed engineer on a ship when it got brand new, computer-controlled, Caterpillar engines about 3 years ago. Yes, you should change the oil, and one thing you should also do is cut open the oil filter to inspect for metallic particles. As I was living in an apartment at the...

    Oil change

If you pay for it and make sure it's not under their "complimentary" service, then hopefully you should not have a problem. I had a problem because there were no safegaurds in place for someone to question using a 10k service when there was less than 2,000 miles on the car.

    Oil change

Personally I would do one after the engine has had a little time to "break-in" (my best guess is between 1,000 and 2,000 miles). You'll have to do it yourself or take it to a 3rd party. If you try taking to a Toyota Dealership, they will probably !@#$ you over like did to me and use your...

Do you know if this exhaust system is compatible with my Corolla?

I wonder if it's possible to add Sport Mode and Paddle Shifters to LE model

I don't like the "aggressive" or "sporty" front, and I don't have to have that feature, so I wouldn't mind spending $100 in parts, but not $1000+ for it to come that way from the factory. I did a quick search on eBay for the paddle shifters and didn't find anything. It's not worth it to me to...

Odd noise, possibly related to CVT

Okay, thanks. I was stopped, almost no one else around, and it was somewhat-loud and noticeable, so I don't think it was a rock. I doubt a metal, chain-like belt would have caused the squealing I heard, so maybe it's not CVT related. It's just too huge of a coincidence not to discount (noise...

I wonder if it's possible to add Sport Mode and Paddle Shifters to LE model

Since another user was able to install the cruise control lever to his L model (link below), the wiring and programming was already there in his car for that. So I wonder if the wiring and programming is already in the LE model for a Sport Mode button and Paddle Shifters. Any thoughts? Adding...

Odd noise, possibly related to CVT

Yesterday, when my car was stationary and I was shifting the transmission, I heard a medium-to-loud sound as if something heavy was being dropped. I then heard a little squealing like a belt was loose. I popped the hood, and couldn't see anything wrong. The squealing went away after a minute...

    TPMS 2014 Corolla

Mine went off when one tire was -0.5 PSI and another tire was -0.25 PSI from the good two tires. I filled them up and made sure all were at 32 PSI, and reset it with the button (though from reading everyone else's comments, I guess I didn't have to use the button). Anecdotal note: when I went...

    Startup

Ideally, you should do that with any engine. It reduces the thermal stresses from going cold to hot very quickly. By letting it idle, you are allowing it to go from cold to warm to hot. Additionally, it's also best to pre-lubricate the engine (usually requires installing an electric pre-lube...

Aesthetics of L/LE vs S model

I don't like the "aggressive" or "sporty" look of the front of the S, and prefer the front of the LE. I'm not trying to attract attention.
