    A/C problem

Remove the glove box, reach up above it near where the air bag is, there is a 1 inch cube sized relay. You can here it click when you turn the blower fan from off to on. Remove it and inspect for oil, rust, corrosion etc on the terminals. In my case, it had leaked oil all over the socket...

    Interior fuse box power tap?

Correction above.....the bottom row add a circuit is always on, not switched. My bad.

    Interior fuse box power tap?

As promised. Notice I added a circuit to my acc outlet which is fused, so there are 2 fuses upper right....hard to see. I also added another circuit to a vacant fuse slot so there is only 1 fuse shown bottom row. This slot is switched on and only powers up with the ign key. You will not be...

2014 Buying - Anything reliability wise to look for?

I'm not a tire guy, just learned a lot over the years. The conti are V rated. The low profile 45 series seems to be the culprit as my other Corolla 2004 with 195/65R15 does much better - not great but better. I see 35-45k on its tires with me driving it. Bear in mind this is a combo of...

2014 Buying - Anything reliability wise to look for?

Do I drive aggressively? Depends on the beholder...but no, not really, just a lot of fast miles on really hot scorching asphalt. I got 17k on oem Firestone 740, might get 15k on conti true contact standard touring tire rated for 90k. I know my tire tech. This is not from punishment or abuse...

There are switched ones there...u gotta hunt and fing them.

    Interior fuse box power tap?

You can use a voltmeter to measure if the fuse is always hot, or switched on with the ign key. Use an "add a circuit" accessory which plugs into the fuse box and retains the orig fuse, plus it also gives a spot for the add on circuit fuse. It's a tidy and wire harness safe method of adding...

    HID lighting, LED conversion?

The turn signal hyper flash is caused by the low current draw of the LED bulb. You need to add a 6ohm load resistor across the bulb socket terminals at each socket that has led. IOW, 4 bulbs equals 4 resistors needed. Hid lo beams is a downgrade IMO.

2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8 CVT Exclusive Tyre Wear Problem

What do the front tires look like now? Is there any evidence of previous inside edge cupping on front tires? Is the cupping problem and noise isolated to just the rear tires?

2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8 CVT Exclusive Tyre Wear Problem

My spidey sense goes up when I hear the 'alignment' is ok. Was a 2 wheel alignment or 4 wheel alignment check done? The latest Corolla is a solid rear axle (not independent) so typically a service check will be a 2 wheel only. I've been down this path before. Cupping on the rear tires can be...

Engine wont turn and computer reset

I suspect a loose or corroded battery terminal. The key symptom is when you go start the engine, you are getting a click sound because the starter is not getting the huge cca (cold cranking amps) it needs. Also, radio presets getting lost. That is the same as when you disconnect the battery for...

2014 Buying - Anything reliability wise to look for?

Here's my 2 cents.....Wife has a 2004 LE. It is much more cramped for me 6ft tall guy compared to my 2015 which is stretched, plus I like the tele steering wheel. My wife thinks my S+ seats are too firm. LE likely softer. My S+ handles well with the 17" 45 series alloy rims....BUT it eats...

2016 Toyota S CVT Oil change

Thanks fishy. Your 2016 (and the other two) is easy to read. It is unlike my 2015. Must be car to car variance.

    2014 s with acceleration issues

Rick, Can you salvage your old tranny? Meaning take it to a trans shop and replace the defective solenoid for a reasonable cost? That would give you a backup tranny....

    2014 s with acceleration issues

Great story and glad you fixed it. Another example for why I use the term 'stealership.' With respect to those earning Toyota paychecks, this is a good example of not providing customer satisfaction.

    Fog lights

No. I recommend using a separate fused power feed from the battery with a 30 amp spst relay. The relay is controlled by the low beams. The dash switch will allow you to choose fogs on or off.

    P0353 - can't fix please help

I chased a similar problem in a 4.7L dodge truck. Was throwing a code for cyl2 misfire but the symptom mimicked a slipping tranny upon launch. Even took it to a tranny shop. I swapped coil packs from cyl 2-4 with no help. It ended up being a defective platimun tip spark plug cyl 2 with low...
