    2014 Corolla - Engine Noise

New and used oil analysis reports at Bobistheoilguy have shown Toyota 0W20 to be a very good quality oil, with many engines showing very little wear even after long runs with this oil. I don't know if it's a group I I I or IV, but the add pack and engine wear results are very good, and the oil...

2015 Corolla - Question About Transmission

There probably aren't many L models out there, and many people that do buy that model do so to get a stick shift and save money against the S. You could look up the operator's manual on Toyota's website and it should say. My guess is that it does not, but just a guess.

2015 Corolla - Question About Transmission

If you mean the CVT transmission, the answer is no. It is a sealed unit, and Toyota specifies the fluid be diagnosed at a certain interval by the dealer, using some type of sensor. It is intended to be a "lifetime fluid", for whatever that means. Changing the fluid is not a simple task, and...

WARNING: Take Care Of Your Car!

I agree that the destruction without recycling of the traded cars was a mistake, the rest of the article seems just an opinion without much to back it up. I admittedly know little of the used car market, I've never bout one. But I'd like to see some statistics comparing prices now and previous...

Are You Safer Than You Were Two Years Ago?

Interesting question. I would answer no,but Ebola is not a factor for me. Increased domestic terrorism, the vulnerability of big data to a devastating cyber attack. An economy based on unsound fundamentals, and the continuing race to the economic bootom are my reasons. Along with a general...

Winter Mats, Weather Tech or Husky Liners?

I bought a set of used Husky's from a fellow member and am quite satisfied. The westhertech may? give you a little more side protection but I don't have a set to compare. If they do its minor. I like weathertech but I think you're paying a premium for the name. I really like the material...

Radiation Levels At Fukushima Rise to Record Highs!

I was and continue to be stunned that this has completely disappeared from the news. The problem still exists and is every bit as dangerous as it was when it was THE headline story.

I think you did pretty well. Is that before or after applicable rebate?

U.S. Agency Warns 4.7 Million Vehicle Owners to Get Air Bags Fixed

This is getting worse and worse. There is a push to greatly expand this recall, possible to ALL cars with this brand of airbag. The manufacturer is resisting and is going to run out of replacements. Toyota has announced they plan to disconnect the passenger air bag and place a sticker on the...

    New Passanger Seat

I wonder if this would allow the front seat to travel any further back. I for one like to sit low so I keep my seat at lowest possible height, and I wouldn't mind another inch of front leg room. I know seat positioning is a hot potato due to airbag concerns. Coming from a person who has...

2014 Corolla Sport - Should I Keep the Stock Rims for Winter?

i would get another set of cheap rims. It will be cheaper in the long run to avoid paying for two mount and balances every year. Plus much less chance of damaging your good wheels with more tire changes. Plus, you can put your winters on right when you want and no have to make an appointment...

2014 Corolla S - Annoying Noise Coming from the Drivers Side

Yeah, that's certainly possible. My success rate on dealer fixes of rattles or other noises is pretty low.

2015 Corolla - Will I Need New TPMS Sensors on My New Aftermarket Wheels?

Yes, but if I understand correctly, you actually had the wheels and thus the sensors off the car. The other poster I was responding to and I both will just have the vehicles parked with the wheels and sensors still on the vehicle, so there shouldn't be a "loss of communication". My...

2015 Corolla - Will I Need New TPMS Sensors on My New Aftermarket Wheels?

I don't think you will have a problem. They still are installed and sensing tier pressure, not disconnected. I garaged my 13 civic for three months last winter and it didn't happen. I plan to do the same with my corolla this winter and drive my beater. If if happened just from not driving for...

2015 Corolla - Car Feels "Busy" At Highway Speeds

Yeah I don't mind the EPS either in the Corolla, to me its calibrated just right. BTW, how much toe in did you get in your FR-S that it made such a difference?

2015 Corolla - Car Feels "Busy" At Highway Speeds

Have you had them ride or drive the car with you? I would demand that and to also do the same with another model on the lot. That response you got is pretty outlandish. Is it enough to consider a safety problem? Because that WOULD get into the area of SIGNIFICANT defect where lemon law would...

2014 Corolla S - Annoying Noise Coming from the Drivers Side

I don't know. I've never heard of the Ethios. Different parts of the world likely get cars from different plants, that could have a bearing on the amount of rattles or other problems.

2014 Corolla S - Annoying Noise Coming from the Drivers Side

Yeah, rattles are incredibly annoying. My 13 Civic didn't have any when I traded it, my 05 Civic didn't have any until this year and now it has a ton (the interior of the car is developing one problem after another in the last few months). My wife's 2015 Fit has a BAD one coming from the...

2014 Corolla S - Annoying Noise Coming from the Drivers Side

Jolly - you might try the fix I did with my rattle a few posts up. I thought it was that vent too, and it tended to occur with temp changes. turned out to be the A-pillar, dashboard contact line.
