2015 Corolla - Bad Gas Mileage???

That sounds about right. I would guess the OP's car would return about the same

2015 Corolla - Bad Gas Mileage???

How cold was it during your city driving? How many occupants? How bad was the traffic and stop lights? From your highway mileage it sounds like your car is capable of delivering the proper gas mileage. I average over 45 in my ECO but I drive almost exclusively hi way and conservatively. Your...

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

I believe its just a characteristic of the fluid. With conventional ATF, darkening usually indicates overheating. The chemistry of the synthetic CVT fluid is significantly different. Viscosity stability is probably its most important parameter. There will be an add pack put into the CVT...

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

Aisin has a reputation for building reliable units, so I'm not too worried. Sealing the unit prevents any contamination from getting into the fluid, that's supposedly the reason its sealed. I don't have a huge problem with how Toyota handles this, as long as the dealer is honest when they...

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

I believe that's not quite accurate. There is a plug, something like and OBD sensor,on the CVT that they connect to a computer while the car is running and it measures properties of the fluid, letting them know if it still is in spec or not. I don't believe this gives any actual physical...

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

It is completely sealed. Only way to physically check it is to drop the pan. The dealer has some type of sensor that they use (don't ask me how) to diagnose the condition of the fluid and if it needs changed.

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

I'm definitely no CVT expert, but it doesn't sound like slipping. What you're describing is very subjective and I can see why the dealer would claim nothing is wrong - they don't know how your car normally shifts as well as you do. You could ask them to make sure there are no error codes...

    2014 Corolla S CVT Problems

I imagine if the steel belt in the CVT were to slip and then catch, it might cause something like this. Or it could be related to the programming that controls the simulated shift points. How big of a jump in RPM's are you seeing when accelerating? Any difference related to outside...

    2015 Corolla L Automatic - No Acceleration

You REALLY need a new dealer or "official Toyota Service Center". Where you are going now seems to lack even the most basic level of competence.

    2015 Corolla L Automatic - No Acceleration

Are you in US or in another country? In US, the CVT isn't available on the L, so I thought you were talking the conventional 4 speed auto. If it threw codes and they just cleared them and said nothings wrong, I'd be going back there with some steel toed boots ready to firmly plant in someone's...

    Automatic Air Conditioning System

Me too. And that's exactly how I use the system in my Corolla. You just need to turn Auto AC off. Clear instructions are in the manual, its pretty simple. One of the first things I did with the vehicle was disable the automatic function.

    2015 Corolla L Automatic - No Acceleration

Yeah, definitely sounds like transmission is slipping - classic symptom being RPMs increasing but not speed. Surprising since I thought the conventional automatic in the L is pretty bulletproof. Although I suppose it could be an electrical or programming issue.

2015 Corolla - Question About Transmission

Are you referring to conventional automatic transmission or CVT?

    Automatic Air Conditioning System

Really? I didn't know that, I thought only in "defrost" mode did it do that. I don't like that, glad I have "auto A/C" switched off. Definitely a fuel waster.

2015 Corolla - Question About Transmission

I thought the WS trans fluid was considered "lifetime" (whatever that means), and that no mileage limit was specified.

Is there some sort of trick to get the AC to turn off?

Are you saying your air conditioning is actually constantly on? Or do you just mean you can always feel a small stream of air from the vents? There will always be some air flow through the vents, I believe that is normal operation. (perhaps not if you set it to "recirculate") Plus if you...

2015 Corolla - Replace Manual A/C Control Unit With Automatic Unit

I don't know, but I sure don't think it would be worth it. I actually prefer using mine in manual mode, to me the automatic control is more of a gimmick than anything else. I can tell if I'm too warm or too cold better than a temperature sensor can. I imagine it would be rather expensive due...

    2014 Corolla - Issues With Smart-Key Locking/Unlocking?

Do you have any other smart keys or anything magnetic on your key ring that could be interfering. I have a magnetic door key for my job and it wreaks havoc with both my garage door opener and it also did weird things with my 13 Civic remote key. It seems to play nice with my corolla remote key...

    Question About AC Controls/Defrost

I've never found auto climate control very satisfying on any car. I just use manual control, sounds like I'm not alone, lol. I do remember when they were going over the car with me when I bought it, the AC blew like ice water when it was engaged.

2014 Corolla - Headlights Seriously Too Bright

Half the people around here, rural central PA, drive around with their high beams on all the time, so I don't feel too badly about it. When I've encountered oncoming Corollas I haven't found them blinding. Personally, I love the headlights, at least until I'm faced with the price of replacing...
