Agree it is best to do the drain plug. Guess the next best thing is to drop the pan, right? Lol ( good laugh) well. it is an alternative. I bet there is a person out there that stripped, banged, damaged their plug, or a person who has arthritis .

I read the story, and hope you can find a better shop. Sounds like the shop is not mechanically incline to do the work, We love to hear more a positive outcome, and hope when you do get your car fixed, we will hear that story. FISH
