maintenance light? oil change? I'm betting it's a stupid exhaust code

This gen Corolla.. the ecu is VERY picky :mad:. You unhook it and now the ecu needs to relearn everything. I let the engine idle for 10 min. Then shut it off for 10 min and fire it again and let it idle for another 10 min. Then shut it off for another 10 min.. then go for a short drive around...

you gotta pay to play here the i·ro·ny :confused::D i'm guessing you have the 1zz motor... which is a proven motor.. it was in the Toyota MR2 & Celica, which are proven tuner cars. Yet.. it's hard to find affordable "options" for it (trying to find the right words) :D:p

i purchase a bolt-on ebay cat back exhaust off ebay for dirt cheap. Because i didn't want to hack my stock muffler (new bolt-on OEM muffler cost $$$). don't waste money on the muffler... save up and do it right

give it a little time and let your new belt wear it a bit.

Worst case is that your steering rack needs to be replace.

:p:D:eek: it's do-able, if you have money & time... sadly, it's not stupid-easy.. like dropping a Honda B18 into another Honda chassis. Now.. dropping a 2zz motor is a lot of headache... shix, you have a better chance dropping a Honda K20 motor into your Corolla:confused:

if it still run strong, don't worry about it. However, I would recommend you yelp your local alternator & starter repair guy. It cheaper to have your local guy re-build your alternator & starter, it just time time consuming :p

As long as your temperature gauge is not dancing, you are okay. Regarding the “white streaks”… if your Corolla venting major white smoke from the muffler, then you have problems.

Check your Radiator Drain Petcock and make sure it's on tight, be careful because it's can be brittle. Summer & Winter hard driving w/ a lead foot can also cause coolant to drain as well. :)

I have a dual-loop muffler.. nothing gain :D :eek: Don't waste your money on your exhaust setup!!!
