    Winter Tires - Front only

Hello guys, I just purchased 2 16inch steel rims and 2 Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 winter tires for my car which I'm going to put on the front. I'm hearing that you're not really supposed to be doing that and install on all 4 because of instability it may cause. I know few people who have been...

    Type Z body kit

Very nice, I think LE has the best front end out of all trims and years including 14th gen S and 2017 over the top that doesn't match the car front end. I'm glad I got mine in LE right before they fudged it all up. :)

    Radio Rebooting?

Chef, what year is your corolla, trim and do you have Navi? - do use your USB connector for media, usb thumb drives or phone charging? - what version of firmware on the system do you have ( probably can't tell if you're unable to access radio, mine's : AU.70.64 for GUI, Nav, Bluetooth and...

    rolla 2016 s questions.

No matter what these 11th gen cars are pretty amazing. Sip gas, reliable, roomy and kind of sporty. Everything I ever need without paying an arm and leg for something else.

    rolla 2016 s questions.

Comparing AE86 to 11th gen Corolla is like comparing Impala/Malibu from 60s to current models. Although they're more reliable and modern, they are front wheel drive and are economy cars that abandoned their racing spirit long time ago.

    EBC Brake Upgrade

hehe, makes sense. Heavier load = faster wear and tear. Do you have a rack or foam supports?

    EBC Brake Upgrade

Silly question. Why do your brakes need replacing on a two year old vehicle unless you have 80k on it or something? Lots of corollas go up to 90k on same brake pads.

Road Trip Ready - New hitch and toad

Hey guys, I've had my hitch for a while but mostly used for bike rack etc. It's rated for 500 lb and 300 lb tongue weight. I'm 190 lb and was testing it by jumping pretty damn hard on it and it's secure as hell so I'm not worrying about any weight issues. I've installed the hitch myself and...

    Rattle in dashboard

I was just reading something on the interwebs about people complaining about dashboard sqeeks and rattles on 11th gen corollas with 10K miles or less. Mine's got 22 and considered myself lucky until few days ago when it started getting cold in Chicago. I guess different plastics and materials...

    Engine Swap

You put more power into it whether it's turbo or swap and all subcomponents including drive train, suspension, axels, cvt will start giving out. This is a commuter car, if you're trying to achieve more power you've made a mistake by buying a corolla. Sell it and buy yourself a more powerful car.

Rope on tires for heavy snow

I'm still going to keep some rope in the trunk, can't hurt. Also, I've bought those zip ties which are supposed to work similar to rope where you run it through the wheel. I'm paranoid I know but again, I used to drive a 2000 4runner limited 4x4 with lockers for 15 years and never had to worry...

Rope on tires for heavy snow

Yeah I agree a good set of snow tires would be better but this is way cheaper especially considering Chicago winters are so unpredictable. Last year we had a handful of snow days and some of my friends have put on snow tires an totally destroyed them because they basically drove on dry pavement...

Rope on tires for heavy snow

Has anyone heard of used this technique? Wrapping 10mm rope around the tires between spokes, paying special attention to avoid running it through where the valve is and using rope think enough to clear brake caliper. I have aluminum wheels so it should work fine, I'm assuming it would be a pain...
