Thoughts on the Blue Crush Metallic Color

I miss the days when we used to have real blue colors. The blue colors on cars these days are too loud and flashy for my tastes. My favorite of all colors was Ford's midnight blue which was a very dark blue.

A classic comparison. But who really wins? Friday feud!

I remember when Toyota used to make the Chevy and Geo small cars. Also cannot forget the Pontiac Vibe. I looked at the Cruze diesel and thought it was a better car. It felt premium and also cost a lot more as I was considering the diesel. At the end, it was about which car has a better track record.

    Headlight mod

Very illegal which is a problem if you live in a state with emission and safety checks at set intervals on cars. It is also a very dangerous mod as it keeps you from seeing and can interfere with other people seeing you.

Front passenger seat sits TOO low

You nailed it. Seats are now an active part of the car's safety system versus the passive role it had up till about 7 years ago

    CVT Maintenance

Lifetime is often also determined by the expected life span of a car. Many cars now come filled with ATF for life with the assumption of an expected service life of 150k miles. I usually do a fluid change at 30k miles and then increase the interval after that.

First car show with new car club.

That may not be street legal and could be dangerous at higher speeds. I have seen piss poor mods fly off cars on the highway although to be fair they were either hoopties or ricers.

    trouble with GPS

That is why this issue is not going to be valid for lemon law purposes. It is likely not a major defect and it does not affect vehicle safety. In fact, it is working exactly as it was programmed even if someone was lazy and thus not a defect. If we keep on this, they will address this sooner...

Thinking About Buying A New Corolla But Have Question

That is something that appears to be true in Toyotas as the dash is very optimistic. I am at 3000 miles and am now finding the dash to be 3-5mpg higher than actual.

    2015 Corolla - Towing a Small Trailer

Keep in mind that the weight is not the only issue. You would also affect the aerodynamics and the additional drag exerted could be far worse than the actual weight. No means no.

    trouble with GPS

Keep us updated as I noticed the same issue on my 2015 with the factory nav. I ended up turning off the radio so I could listen.

LED Turn Signals, TRD Exhaust, TRD Rear Sway Bar

I keep forgetting that you must have the S. In my LE premium with the fake leather seats(only way Toyota lets you get the heated seats), I can't take corners very hard as my ass slides right out. I did test drive a 6 speed S which had nicely supported seats, but then common sense came over me as...

LED Turn Signals, TRD Exhaust, TRD Rear Sway Bar

Keep us updated on the LED high beams and I know many of us are interested. As for the rear swaybar upgrade, practice caution and really get used to how it feels especially when cornering around flawed pavement. The additional rigidity means that there is less articulation in the rear. This...

Front passenger seat sits TOO low

You are correct. I would highly recommend against using any type of seat cushion or padding on any modern vehicle as they are all equipped with advanced multi-stage airbags that often rely on your seating position, weight, and other factors.

Front passenger seat sits TOO low

I think part of the illusion that is created is the extremely high dashboard line on these Corolla's. It makes you feel like you are trying to peak over a ridge in a way. I do not have an S, so try what the above poster just suggested.

    Ac cooling issue

On a 94 degree day with the car sitting in the hot sun all morning and afternoon long, it took my car 45 seconds before it stopped blowing scalding hot air. It started getting cooler after a minute so I agree that it taking 3-5 minutes might not be normal unless the OP lives in Death Valley, CA.

    2015 Corolla - OTD price

I agree with the above comment about Truecar. While I don't know anyone who swears by it, I can say from looking around that it was able to give me realistic estimates of what I was in fact able to negotiate on various makes and models. After spending some time with this CVT, I can say that I...

    Ac cooling issue

We have had a few days in the mid 90's this summer and I have found that the longest it ever took before it started switching over to cool air was about 45 seconds to a minute.

Can you really tell difference from Eco to LE?

How are you calculating your fuel economy. With the Eco being rated only 2mpg higher than the standard LE and 3 more than the S, I have a hard time understanding how you calculated that your Eco is getting a full 10mpg above EPA estimates.

    Driving uphill

That is going to be a common complaint with vehicles in this price range, especially those equipped with CVT's. It is just trying to make the most of its Briggs and Stratton sized engine in a 2800-2900lb car by keeping the engine in its powerband. Cars in this price range with the exception of...

Can you really tell difference from Eco to LE?

As for your reported fuel economy, is that based on imperial gallons or US gallons?
