Water Pump

#1
is it normal to replace a water pump on a '09 corolla with 60,000 miles? just went in for the 60k service and was told that front break pads need replacing (did that for a cost of $300) and the inner seal on the water pump had a small leak and needed to be replaced for another $300. we have not seen any leaks under the car where we park and we look often just to make sure.

front BRAKE pads run around $60.00. Labor at a Toyota shop, should run around $115.00 Per hour. On books the job should take 15 minutes per wheel, and you should not get charged the full hour, rounded off.

The seal around the pump can leak. but I se no reason to change this at this given time? I agree with you. This could have been tightened, and kept an eye on, a quick fix could have been done vs a higher priced repair.

What did they do for $300. Brake Repair.
