Spark Plug Recommendation

I think I need to replace the plugs. These cars don't have cap and rotors, so do you replace the plugs (which type would you recommend), wires, and coil packs???

Hi porschpow,

The 1998 to 1999 Corolla used a NGK BKR5EKB11 or equivalent plug. A 2000 and later Corolla used a NGK IFR5A11 or equivalent plug.

I drive aggressively so I replace mine every 60,000 miles. They're supposed to last 100,000 miles but I usually have very little electrode left at 60,000.

It all really depends on your driving habits and the temperature of the plug you use.

Yeah it's about that time.

Any parts store should be able to get you OEM or OEM spec plugs. Might not be a bad idea to change the plug wires. As far as the coil, I only replace them when the engine starts missing. Otherwise they are fine.

Yeah, Distributors are not in OBD-II vehicles.

Your local Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, etc., parts stores can tell you.
