My dog chewed up my key luckly only housing was damaged so I bought the housing only and cut key and tried to program it but did not work so I called dealer .they told me cost me $100 to program by computer. they said that is the only way.Is it true?

Yes it is, unfortunately the keys with the chip have to be programmed. It takes about an hour, so that's where the cost is.
