Im sorry if this is in the wrong place but i wanted to give people a heads up incase anyone is thinking about dipping their car or rims.
I recently dipped my rims and grill i started dipping using flexi dip because my home depot didnt have plasti dip in stock. So i got 2 cans and started spraying my car and it looked like crap after it dried. I thought i did a great job spraying i took my time and did it right but the flexi dip faded in a day and what was supose to be flat black came out grey and blotchey i used about 7 coats on everything i was painting. I peeled it off my badges and it didnt come off in one piece like you see with plasti dip and even with 7 coats the rubber was very thin. So i went back to home depot and found the last 2 cans of black plasti dip hidden so i grabbed them i painted over the flexi dip on my rims with the plasti dip and it looks great now. I had 5 people come up to me while i was spraying and ask me which one i was using because they liked the look. I told them all plasti dip. For a few reasons.
1. Plasti dip is self leveling
2. The plasti spray can tip is better it sprays like a real paint gun and not like spray paint
3. The dip itself is thicker one coat of plasti is equal to 3 of flexi
4. Flexi dip will eat your clear coat (took the red out of my S on my badges) and plastic like headlights and sticks to glass like no other (goo gone works great)
5. Flexi dip fades fast
I dont work for either of these companies, this is just my 2 cents from my own experience. I hope your diys to come out great.
