Plasti-Dip Part I

In honor of Independence Day!

This is my first attempt at diping. I think it turned out rather well. Debating whether to do the "S", and I'll work on the front emblem tomorrow.

After a few coats of plasti-dip: (Note, the presence of the Sam Adams Summer Ale, a key success factor)

Finished product:

Slight smudge on the top of the Toyota emblem. I'll touch it up tomorrow.

Nice, but that method you used around the Toyota emblem is used for a different purpose. Next time, I would recommend that you tape around the emblem about an inch away and fully dip the area. Then you can just peel everything off without leaving any jagged edges like you left on top of the emblem.

Yeah, after I started peeling it, I realized I should have gone a bit wider on the masking. Thanks for the tip. I don't suppose it would hurt to mask and spray another few coats to smooth it out? Or should I peel it from the Toyota emblem and start over?

Hm, I would peel it off and start over so that way I can gauge how evenly I am putting the coats on.
