Noisy & slow when driving in rain

Hi all

I have an 03 Corolla. It drives perfectly well until I’m in heavy rain. As soon as I drive through standing water, it loses power and starts to sound really loud. This doesn’t happen in light rain, just when there’s enough water to splash under the car.

We’ve had it up on the ramp and there’s no obvious damaged wires or holes in the exhaust etc.

check your splash guards, mud guards, wheel well for wear and tear and loose push buttons/bolts/screws.

having one of these missing, damage, or hanging will cause noises and the parachute effect.

The last thing.. is tires, make sure you have decent set of tires
