For those who actually want to build there Corolla engines whether it be for turbo, N/A, supercharged, etc. MonkeyWrench Racing just released their built 2ZR-FE heads and short blocks:
http://monkeywrenchracing.com/product/mwr-built-short-block-toyota-2zr-fe/
http://monkeywrenchracing.com/product/mwr-built-cylinder-head-toyota-2zr-fe/

So you can pretty much get a fully built engine now if you want to make a large amount of boost or want a good N/A build. They also have cams and other stuff and there's more coming.

Very nice find! Seems interesting. Will definitely open up some avenues for those with manual transmission corolla's. Now we just have to see if someone managed to unlock the ECU since Toyota likes to lock them against tuning.

What do you guys think of the 2ZZ-GE engine used in the Lotus Elise? Still a 1.8L motor, but pumping out more ponies.
It's a really good engine and I love it's high revving capabilities but it is a bit outdated now. Trying to find a 2005-2006 Corolla XRS with the 2ZZ will result in finding high mileage ones. Swapping one in to the newer Corolla's would be cool but no one has done it yet as far as I know. It's possible though. MWR already has a ton of parts for it so they are good race engines.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I'd rebuild the engine before doing a swap. The config is a little different than the 2ZR-FE motor. From what I can see, MWR has it prebuilt already for about the same price...
