memory stick not recognized by radio

When I plug a memory stick into the stereo system, the memory stick shows up on the source screen, but it's grayed out. I've tried formatting the stick in every way I know how, and the stereo does not "see" it. It does this with every memory stick I've tried. I'm using Windows 7.

Also, why is everything in the owners' manual about Apple products ? What about the millions of us who don't use an iphone or ipad ?

well, I think it comes down to the I products work very easy. plug in an away you go. that is my two cents worth as I have no I products myself

I had a similar issue, because I thought the system would read NTFS format, but it doesn't. Make sure you go to the "My Computer" screen right click on the flash drive, than Format and make sure you its on FAT32 and NOT NTFS. Transfer your music onto the Flash drive and try again. But as long as its .MP3 format it should work and a few other format (Not exactly sure, but .mp3 file works for sure).

Just heads up mine went bad would not read any more. My part is on order free under warranty if not
a $145. part only and labor in NY is $110 hr ...
