Is there a way to turn off the automatic day-light headlights?

I find the automatic headlights feature during the day for my 2012 corolla S pretty useless since I can see during the day just fine. Is there a way to turn this feature off?? (I could not find anything on the owner's manual)

not without messing with wiring. The idea of DRL's is not for you to see during the day but for others to see you from a greater distance.

this discussion offers the details... it's simply one wire to cut to shut down the auto light feature.
