HVAC Blower Control Cables

#1
I have a 2011 Corolla LE, and the HVAC Blower Control Cables (55906D and 55909C) have stopped working. The ends of the wire cables have slipped off the actuators and so the knobs don't work. I can put the wire cables back on the actuators, but they just slip off again as soon as I try to manipulate the knobs.

Has this happened to anyone else? What was the fix? Is there any alternative other than replacing the cables?

Check if the cable is kinked or misrouted, that can make the control feel stiff. Lubricating the cable with silicone spray might help if it’s tough to move.

Sounds like the issue is with cables binding or getting stuck. I had a similar problem in an old Corolla, and it turned out a cable was slightly bent, causing resistance when turning the knob. Ended up carefully straightening it and adding a little dry lubricant, which helped a lot. Also, I once had a drainage issue in my garage, and drainage services London sorted it out quickly, so might be worth checking for moisture buildup too.
