How long do your front breaks last?

My 2014 LE went 151,000 miles before I needed to replace the front break pads.

Now at 187,000 miles the same dealership who did the break job says I'm down to 5mm and should replace the break pads again.

How did the factory break pads last 151,000 miles but the dealership replacement only 36,000? Can anyone explain that to me? At the 151,000 service, my notes say they replaced the break pads and resurfaced the rotors.

Were they OEM brake pads and rotors? Brake pads are made from a combination of various materials. They all differ in their makeup based on a whole slew of criterias.

Unless the dealer replaced them with the exact originals, we can only guess that you were given the cheapest of the cheap in the bunch.
