How install GPS in Corolla 2017 SE

#5
My car has a GPS, and I don't even use it. I use the WAZE app on my smart phone. It has real time updates, and it guides me away from traffic and gives me the fastest route to my destination. GPS requires yearly update that cost around $150. Everyday there are street changes, construction, traffic, road closures, etc, so the latest updates on built in GPS are already outdated. IMHO, the additional gadget, wiring, and satellite antenna for GPS are not worth it.

IT should be plug and play. Get a head unit with GPS and plug into your ride. Might have to get it coded by the dealer to your car but should work. Honestly though it is cheaper to get a Garmin or Magellan with life time map updates. Or he app if it works.

I think that the cars has the same radio, the only difference is if they enable or not (by software using maybe a car computer) a package or something that include another options like Gps and other options

The head units in the 2013 are different. Look similar but the non-nav can't be used for nav, need to have the other unit. Not sure if the is the case in the new vehicles but I don't think Toyota would change that, there is a reason it cost more for nav and not just a simple software load.
