Frozen/Sticking Caliper?

#1
Hey guys,
So when I apply the brakes, I hear a sort of "grinding" that continues after I let off the brakes. It eventually will subside, until I apply the brakes again. I think the pads are alright; I'm going to check them after work today. Has anyone had issues with a frozen/sticky caliper on these? My car is still under warranty for another 12k miles so if it is frozen, the warranty should take care of it. Just kind of strange.

I hope that's it. I need to inspect my brakes anyway because it's about time to do a brake job. How long do our rotors last? Can they be re-surfaced? Or should I just throw new ones on while I do the pads?

Also, what pads are recommended? I have Akebono ceramics on my Rover and LOVE them. Acceptable on the Corolla?

Well I don't think it's the brakes. I visually inspected all of them and they look to be top shape. Pads are about 50%. Rotors looked great too. Just to make sure I didn't miss anything, I had Big O look at them, and they gave me the same conclusion. No problems with the brakes at all.

My wife then pointed out, it only does it when the A/C is on. Is that weird? Because she is right. When the A/C has been running for a while, you can start to hear a "grinding". But it seems to only happen when you brake and then a couple seconds after you let off the brakes. It also sounds directly affected by the wheels, but I have no idea how this would be happening.

Any ideas?

using brake grease called a few names will need to be placed on your slider pins, this is a required maintenance during sprng/fall,
