Crank, no start - toyota corolla 2005

#1
Hey everyone,

I got an online change past weekend, pick up my my car from NTB after oil change and drove away with no problems.

Later that night i started the car again and the crank took a few extra seconds before it started. This happened a second time, after that i was idling at a stop and the car the shut down on me...after that i would start and the car just cranks but no start.

Tried jump start (thats what i thought it was at first) still wouldnt start. Towed it a different mechanic (NOT NTB), he said he'll need some time to diagnose. Any suggestions from you guys on what it could be ?

Thanks in advance

it's weird that it would die while idling...

I am no car mechanic, but on a motorcycle, that would make me think they (accidentally or inadvertently) turned the idle screw down too low, and now it's not getting enough gas to turn over or properly idle when cold.

Umm, not to insult you but is your gas gauge working and or low fuel indicator? I had a motorcycle once that I used to start up in the garage every couple weeks to keep the fuel injectors from clogging up. One day it was running ok then it started sputtering and then quit. I thought something serious was wrong until my wife suggested that maybe it was out of gas. Damn if she wasn't right. She's always right! :D
