Corolla S 2016 seat weight?

#1
im wondering. How much is the driver and passenger seat in a corolla s 2016? I’m looking to get racing seats but first I want to see if the weight difference is beneficial. Thank you.

Damn. If it’s 30 lbs, a racing seat won’t be worth it. Is it easy to take it out? If so I might take it out and weigh it to check. What other ideas do you guys have in weight reduction? In the long run I might want this to be a project build. So I want to try to make it as light and fast as possible. Thank you.

Chris forgot to tell you that your stock seats have tons of sensors wire into them. Once you remove your stock seats, it will trigger your AIRBAG, Belt, door chime, & child safety sensors.

Be careful, when removing your stock seats. You don’t want to damage a seat sensor or strip a bolt. You might even need a Toyota Special Tool remove a few bolts. I call it an Allen Wrench or hex key.

Once you select your racing seats… oh, don’t forget to pick up a set of seat brackets, sliders, rails, harness bar, harness belts, etc.. The last time I check most NAME BRAND parts are not backward compatible

HAVE FUN!!

True. So it’ll add a few more lbs with all the railings and everything. And the sensors I believe there’s a way to activate them. I wouldn’t mind keeping them active 24/7. Like maybe if I join the wires to keep the current flowing. Idk. I’ll have to see it. Damn. It might be more worth it to get a carbon fiber hood.

(( Take youre time )) it could cost you $5K for a single seat, NO JOKE !
What I would do if I w you, buy an extra set of seats that have the air bags deployed,
you ca get them for about $300 a pair, use the seat brakets and get ON with the project !

The OEM Parts most of the time are Heavier them aftermarket parts !
I installed new rims on my 2017 iM and the after market rims/tires are 5 Lbs lighter (each) then the ones that D car came with.

Choose Aluminum frame Seats and you will be under weight !
Good Seat's that will fit that Project > Braum, Cobra Seats, Recaro, Sparco, NRG Innovations and Takata Racing Seats take youre pick !
Veery EZ project.

Happy Trails you RollAddicts !

Step 1: disconnect the battery.
Step 2: unplug the connectors under the seat(s)
Step 3: remove (4) plastic trim pieces that cover the seat mount bolts.
Step 4: remove four 14mm hex head bolts (nothing special)
Step 5: lean the seat back and carefully remove however you see fit.

HEY.. Chris! ;)
Some good information here. But no special tools are required to remove the stock seats from the car.
Maybe to disassemble the seats, but not to remove them.
I have an LE with cloth seats. Nothing special. Drivers seat has 3 connectors, passengers seat has 4, more if you have butt warmers.
The bolts are standard 14mm (x4).
Disconnect the battery before removing or replacing any electrical connectors, especially the yellow ones!
Yellow is air bag stuff and you could trip the bags if power is present.

I just wish I could instal a better brand Radio w some good speakers, if you changed the Radio, I was told that I would have to get a secondary back up camera cause the OEM will not and there is NO jack that will work on a new Radio ! Thats F UP !
I was looking to install > (( Alpine - In-Dash Digital Media Receiver - Built-in Bluetooth - Satellite Radio ))

Any Advice, its welcome !
Maestro Rr from iDatalink will allow you to change out the radio and keep all the functions, backup cam and steering wheel controls.

GM Thanks
Time consuming to get it done right !

No seat warmer on 2017 iM model, will NOT use seat belts, instead I will use the 4 point belts !
Will NOT remove the OEM seat belt system, Most Keep !
The sensor on the seat belt will be bypass w a couple of Safety seat belt buckle clips, ( like this )

th.jpeg

This way the seat belt light will stay off, system will think there is someone seating @ all time !
Its a most THINK before you Act.
Happy Trails You RollAddict's !
