Common issues / how to spot

Hi everyone,

Looking to buy a 2010 Corolla CE - neighbir is offering it for a good price.

Was wondering if there's a thread somewhere of common issues? or maybe someone can help spot common issues with this years model?
I'm confused about this talk about oil consumption, and if it is an issue with this car.. or if there are other recalls/issues to watch out for.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction for what to look out for, it would be greatly appreciated

The oil consumption problem was only on some 2009-2012 Corolla XRS's with the 2.4L engine. The Corolla CE has the 1.8L engine so it won't have any oil consumption problems. Things to look for is to see if the water pump has been done with the updated unit (some early 2010's had the early design which would fail), see if all of the recalls had been done (window switch, airbag, etc.), and that's generally about it. Just make sure that it has been well maintained and the right repairs have been done depending on it's mileage.
