Bluetooth Cuts Google Maps Sound

I have a 15 Corolla S. If I am using Google Maps on my Samsung Galaxy S4 I have to turn off the bluetooth or there is no sound on the phone unless somebody calls then I hear it over the speakers in the car. I noticed this also happens when watching a video. Seems all the sounds are going into the cars bluetooth system.

Any ideas on how to fix this or just keep the bluetooth off on the phone and not be able to use the features of the car.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to describe. In Google Maps > Settings > Navigation Settings there is a check box for
"Play voice over Bluetooth"

In Android there is Settings > Bluetooth > a gear icon next to your car > check boxes for the different things you can transmit via Bluetooth.

Play around with those settings to get what you want.
