Black box

Hey guys, I have an 2007 corolla S. And it has this black box, windshield mounted, behind the rearview mirror on the passenger side. Id like to know what it is, it's purpose, and can I remove it somehow?

I had to get my windshield replaced awhile ago and they asked me what it was, if it was important. I couldn't give them and answer, I told them if they can go ahead and remove it. They said it's wired through the headliner.

Anyone have any insight?

can be
antenna for tracking system ?
antenna for remote start ?

It could be a rain sensor for the windshield wipers.

you have that answer is in your car , you can try it. If that work with the wipers and has to have another buttons on the dash because no corolla s coming with that from factory.
