Backup Warning Feature

#1
We have a 2015 Corolla LE Premium. Anyone know what cost might be to have
a backup warning buzzer alert installed. One that senses pedestrian/traffic.

Not sure that exist in after market. I know of the Mobileye CS270 for forward collision warning, an around $800 gadget, a portable version of the Volvo system. And even then, results may vary...

They do exist...many are available on Amazon.com among other places. Interested in knowing if anyone
on the forum has experience with this.

I taught you meant those new system with pedestrian detection. If you find something else than China made "radar" that beep and/or use a color bar as you are getting closer to an obstacle let us know. The lines on the back-up camera do pretty much the same thing (but no sound)

I've gotten mixed answers from two different Auto Electronic installation shops. One said they do offer a 4 sensor installation on back bumper. Small discs(color black) very similar to factory used appliance. Disc's must be painted if want to match body color. Fellow said
they function same as factory oem option. Sense anything with 8 to 10 feet so he says. Other shop say's they really are obstacle sensors
that alert when within few feet. So very different answers.

Yes, the camera has markings but they aren't that useful for oncoming perdierian or cross parking-lot-lane traffic. I have this in my 2014 Rav4
with Tech Package and like it very much. Corolla is Premium edition, driven by my wife. she see's/hears my Rav4 alert for situations I describe and asks about this retro fit. I plan to visit the guy that said it works same as oem.....we'll see.

Thanks! Then I'd say the mixed answers reflect two different equipments :
-Rear parking sensors (those gadgets on Amazon) - just reflect the distance between the back of the car and a fixed obstacle right behind it. About 10' range, no side perception. And even if it had it, too short for reaction. Much like the camera.
-Rear cross traffic alert - detect moving objects. About 300' range with back and side perception. Minimal time/distance for reaction ( some with auto-braking function), provided that the "view" is clear. About 40% efficiency, according to AAA.
That's the type I'm not aware of an aftermarket option beside the Mobileye, and even that one is rather a forward collision equipment.

Hi, new member here. I know that Corolla Altis models in Taiwan have the backup camera as well as the sensors on the bumpers that beep as you get closer to an object. I dont think those are available in US Corollas. But the are really for parking only.
