98 Corolla, tires at 10%. Front wheels slip when doing a slow sharp turn.

I just bought a used Corolla yesterday and I knew the tires needed to be replaced. I noticed that when doing a slow sharp turn where the steering wheel is almost maxed out, the front wheels slip. Is that mainly due to the worn tires or could it be that the alignment is off and the Ackerman angle is not correct?
I'll be buying new tires soon and am wondering if an alignment will fix this.

Wow, someone who used proper terminology. Thank you for doing your research!

Yes, ackerman angle can cause this issue. Worn out tires also can. I'd have the shop do an alignment check when you get your new tires.

Oh I did a little Baja SAE stuff at school so I know a bit about that stuff haha. So I got the tires changed to all new ones and it the problem is gone. When I got them changed, the guy also did an alignment check and I got the report from him. Some of the tires are only like 0.48 degrees out of toe. That doesn't sound like such a serious deviation to me. Is it?
