I posted this in the general board as well:
2013 Corolla cranks fine, wouldn't start
2013 Corolla S parked since Friday evening, we come out Sunday afternoon and the car won't start. Turned key in ignition and it cranked perfectly . The usual suspects are spark and fuel.
These days we have to add in 'computer'.
We did multiple tries and the starting motor was whizzing away yet the engine would not run (didn't hear any combustion, either).
We did some internet research and one hit suggested disconnecting the battery overnight so that the computer would 'reset'.
We disconnected ( neg. terminal) , came back in 2 hours, re-hooked up the (negative) cable and had a first start that was difficult. Pressed the gas pedal multiple times, it finally caught.
After that(now a day later), all starts have been smooth, easy and normal (no need to step on gas and it started right up!).
Now it's Tuesday and the car starts perfectly.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Any ideas on the subject would be appreciated.
Thanks !
