flying stones tend to do that
and no windshield is impervious to rock chips.

you're not wearing the windshield on your lap...
so it must be doing what it was designed to do.

ride a motorcycle and see what happens
when that rock hits your sunglasses

I will only ride with a full face helmet
with an unbreakable safety face shield.
I've had rocks kicked up at me
and even once had a bird clip my face shield.
'bout all I could do was stay upright and on.

Be humble and satisfied... that those rocks didn't imbed into your forehead.

btw... rocks are not always round...
round rocks tend to do less damage.
rocks with sharp edges generally put us on the losing side.

Did you just recently stop riding the short bus ?

well, this won't be as colourful (that is spelt right as in Canada we use ou not just o, and yes outside of the U.S. Spelt can be interchanged with spelled) as taco'rolla but chips will happen. How hard a stone hits, shape, and direction can all play a role in the severity of a chip but a chip can happen at any time. just get it fixed properly before it spiders out and a crack grows the length of the windshield. I was in a car when the windshield shattered, safety glass prevented me from having the glass sitting in my lap but it was scary experience.
