2012 Corolla - Wandering

#1
My wife's 2012 seems to wander out of it's lane on the freeway, steering is exceedingly light and must be continuously corrected - I saw somewhere on a discussion where a user had developed their own alternative steering angles (toe-in, camber, caster) to improve tracking Anyond know about this?

How long has she been driving the car for?

It took me a couple months to get used to, but I got used to it.

Adjusting the steering angles can help the car stay straight (for instance, increasing caster), but I don't think that our suspensions allow for an adjustable caster, and modifying the camber and toe-in WILL wear out the tires more quickly.

how can I say this. sure it is not the road? Today I road the same one, and my front end started to feel like speed balance issue. well I got to a different section. and car is smooth . This is now a new pattern on that stretch.

The roads we drive may not change, but in time they will. and possibly it may have been that road, that lane that section.

Does this happen ALL the time.

How many miles do you have on the car and has this wandering been present since the car was new, or did this just recently start?

There are many members here who have commented that the Toyota electric power steering seems to be a bit on the sensitive side, but as Donabed commented, everyone seems to get used to it.

If you never driven an AWD, you'll feel the difference, till you get used to it. It may not be in a few miles, but many thousands of miles......

The wandering you feel can come, and go on certain turn or bends. and when that happens, correction is needed, you feel the car wander/Slide and that may be what you feel.

Brand new 1500 mile ride the car was ALL over the road loaded down not near its load weight. we said these tires suck! Now I can say this Electric system to sensitive.

If it is to lose seek a professional tech to adjust!

Light steering is pretty much normal. Needing correcting all the time is a concern. Check your air pressure and look for tire wear. May need an alignment.
