2010 - Help Please! Replace the Engine or Another Option?

#1
I have a 2010 Toyota corolla with 105000 miles on it... About 2 days ago i was replacing the oil and saw that there is a huge hole in the engine block... Don't know how it got there or what happened...I'm in the processes of an insurance claim but don't know if they will cover it... I don't have the cash to replace the engine but was thinking about getting a loan out... I have about 14000 left on my loan to pay off... What are your thoughts, comments, concerns... Thanks for your help!

Oh eek, I got as far as 'hole in the block' and cringed. Is there any kind of warranty you bought when you got the car?

There's no 'quick fix' for the block itself, SOMETHING catastrophic is going on inside the motor that resulted in the hole, I'm surprised it's still running.

There are some really good places out there for used engines. Have you ever heard of LKQ/Greenleaf?
