So I went to replace the dome light on my wife's Corolla, I found that initially that the little tab was bent that holds the bulb and wasn't making good contact with the bulb as there was some corrosion on the bulb where it looked like it could have been arcing slightly. The bulb was also held very loosely. So I bent that tab a little bit and cleaned up the bulb contacts and it worked fine. Fast forward a year the bulb finally quit. Went to replace the bulb and that stupid little tab that holds the one end broke off. So now I need to find a whole new housing. Everywhere I look only lists the bulb or cover. I need the whole housing. Does anywhere sell that or does anyone have a parts car laying around I could get it from. Or is there some kind of upgraded one that has a switch or something on it that fits right in? The wife is tired of not having a light in her car and Im tired of hearing about it! HELP! :yes:

The website wont list the housing as it is too small of a part to list. So you'll need to search using different parameters, like for the engine or transmission and then actually call the automotive junkyard and ask if the housing is still in the car, (most likely it will be, as that's not a common item to replace).

I said I go a L.E.D. route tap to the wires, double side tape on, and done.
I find away to get the connections on to the existing contact. drill, tap, clip. if tapping only to the wiring then you need not the other parts. You'll have a much brighter light. I may opt for the right one. I only show a led, nothing more

So you ran around say about 2 hours, used a gal of gas. and no luck. To find one at the junk yard that was to high a price. and here you got a part, for $25.00 the seller pays fees, and shipping, the part actually will run about $13.00
