I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla LE and the following happened. I wanted to lock the driver's door. I did not have the key with me, so I push down the lock
button on the inside and then lifted the door handle to lock it. Well, as I lifted the door handle I heard a click sound and now the door wont open up from the outside. Did i disconnect something inside or did it break inside??? I talked to a local mechanic and he said it is common for the handle and components break as made with plastic. Anyone experience this? I am thinking it may be best to just get a new handle. . I may have just disconnected something inside but wonder if it's worth getting inside the door to check. The power locks work though and I can open up car from inside. Just the outside handle won't do anything when I lift it.
