2000 Corolla. Fuel leaking from top of injectors.

#1
Hi everyone, I just found this board and signed up. I'm having a problem. It seems like a simple fix but it's giving me fits. GF's daughter just bought this car. Reading the engine code, it's got the Cylinder 2 misfire. So while i was doing the tune up (new plugs, air filter, etc) I decided to plug the injectors and clean/inspect them.

Here's the problem, I bought new o-rings from Auto Zone but the injectors were really tight, trying to get them back in the top of the fuel rail. I installed everything and started the car. Gas spewing out between the injector and the fuel rail. I've tried several o-rings but the problem persists.

I read somewhere that you have to use the OEM Toyota o-rings. Any truth to this? Is there something simple I'm missing? I tried putting a little oil on the o-rings to ease them back in but they were still super tight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. She's dying to get the car back and I figured this would only take an afternoon, but here we are at day 3. :/
