1998 Corolla - Ride Height?

#1
Hi,

My 1998 Toyota Corolla seems to be sagging in the rear. I was wondering if anyone knows what the ride height is, where to measure it and how to measure it??? I've done the bump test on both sides where you push down on the car to test the shock that's in the strut. One side is fine while the other seems to be going. I have 365,000 kilometers on it.

Also I have a high speed shimmy at around 110 KPH. The tires are balanced and suspension bushings look good, any ideas????

On these notes does anybody know where to find specifications on the web, so I can verify any specs given???

Thanks

Are you trying to check ride height to diagnose a bad shock? If so, shocks do not effect ride height and a bad shock will not show in a ride height measurement.

If it is sagging then your spring is bad. The shock could also be bad, I just want to be clear that it will not effect ride height.

Springs should be changed in pairs. If you replace one of the rears then it will just lean the other direction.

Sorry, I am not sure what the spec for ride height is.

Hey thanks and I know that already. I just want to verify that it is indeed sagging and the way to do that would be to measure the ride height. I hope someone can help
